Day 01
Arrival day
Arrive in Livingstone, where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your accommodation. You will stay in the private Limbo Lodge, just a 5 minute walk from Livingstone’s town centre.
Day 02
Town tour and Victoria Falls
After breakfast, you will have a presentation on the local area and a briefing of what to expect from the next few days. In the afternoon, you will head to Victoria Falls, one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. Situated on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, the waterfall towers over 100 metres and spans 17 kilometres, with a powerful flow of up to 10,000 cubic meters per second. Enjoy exploring this UNESCO Heritage site as you follow the paths to spectacular viewpoints.
Day 03
Sports day
Enjoy a fun-filled sports day with one of our partner schools, participating in a variety of activities and games alongside local school children for an unforgettable experience.
Day 04
Eco brick building day
Eco bricking is a sustainable initiative where plastic waste is transformed into building materials. Students and community members will collect non-biodegradable plastic and pack it into bottles to create “eco bricks.” These bricks are used for construction projects like benches, garden beds and walls, reducing waste and raising environmental awareness. Today, you’ll use pre-made eco bricks to build a new eco-structure from scratch. You’ll construct the structure, paint and decorate it.
Day 05
Tree planting and village tour
Today, you’ll have the opportunity to plant your own fruit tree in the orchard, which supports the local community by providing food for schools. You will have the chance to explore the orchard as your guide shares more information about this initiative. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the nearby villages of Sakubita and Linda. Led by women from our community group, you’ll experience an authentic tour of the local market, schools and daily life. With a population of 5,000-6,000, the community relies on subsistence farming and tourism, but faces challenges like poverty and limited access to education and healthcare. Through community-based tourism, we aim to support local development, promote cultural exchange and encourage environmental conservation.
Day 06
Museum and local market
This morning, you’ll visit the museum to learn about Zambia’s history and its rich culture. David Livingstone, a Scottish missionary, doctor and explorer, arrived in Africa in 1840, exploring central and southern regions, including the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls. He campaigned against the slave trade and was a strong advocate for African rights. His legacy includes opening central Africa to European exploration, promoting African culture and inspiring future generations. He was a true hero and pioneer in African history. After lunch, you’ll explore the local market, where you’ll discover fresh produce and unique local crafts.
Day 07
Safari
Today you will go on a game drive in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for possible sightings of a diverse range of wildlife including elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and many bird species. The park features a variety of vegetation, including miombo woodland, grassland, riverine forest and the Zambezi River. While you take in the scenery, your guide will share fascinating facts about the species you’ll encounter along the way. In the afternoon, you’ll return to the private Limbo Lodge for a reflective activity, where you’ll look back on our time in Zambia and the memories you’ve made.
Day 08
Departure
Make your way to the airport for your departure home.
